Wharton Street Revitalization Project Update – December 23

The Wharton Street Revitalization Project is nearly complete as we head into the end of the year. With only a small amount of work remaining, crews have been busy wrapping up the final details.

Recent work includes:

  • Installation of pavers and seating in Veterans Memorial Square
  • Replacement of the streetlight base in the Post Office parking lot
  • New curbing along Armstrong Avenue

In the new year, the remaining work will include:

  • Installation of the washroom in Veterans Memorial Square (expected the second week of January) and the pavers around the washroom
  • Installation of overhead lighting in Veterans Memorial Square
  • Electrical work at the sub-station near the intersection of Prairie Valley Road and Armstrong Avenue

We invite you to drop by and check out the improvements! Wharton Street is officially open in both directions, and Veterans Memorial Square is partially open to the public.

We look forward to hosting a community event to officially celebrate the completion of this exciting project in early 2026.

Thank you for your patience throughout construction, and we wish everyone a happy holiday season!
